Hi, I’m Gerrit. I am a Digital Designer, active in the field of user interface and user experience design.
My most recent experience was at Upscreen, a Dutch startup where I was responsible for user interface & user experience design concepts of multiple Interactive Digital Signage products.
My passion for design and technology started at young age, with pencils and lego’s as my favourite toys. My walk on the border of arts and technology eventually led me to the University of Twente, where I got my Masters in Industrial Design Engineering.
During my studies I found great joy in creating visual identities, graphic design, user interface and user experience design and researching how and why people interact with products and services. I’ve always had a profound interest in envisioning new ideas and being able to build them.
Since learning to code I don’t shy away from taking designs into development or even the app store. These days I like to build (web) apps and UI’s with React (Native) and know many of the popular practices & libraries that make up the React Ecosystem (CSS-in-JS, Redux, GraphQL).
